Sometimes you think you love someone, and they know they don’t love you back. That they never will is also something they know. They keep you around regardless, but they don’t tell you what they know. They let you kiss the air around them for weeks and months and years, but they don’t say a thing. You have to figure it out on your own, and then you have to stop thinking you love them. When I was 14, I was
learning this. I had my devotion pinned firmly on such a knower. I didn’t figure it out though until a year or so after I recorded this album, across the endless winter of 2004.
Snow Mercy is intended to be listened to on headphones.
